Morris Jeff Community School offers an education that is a source of freedom and possibility for all students, permitting them to develop their talents fully, become contributing global citizens, and attain the foundation needed to excel at college, career and beyond.

About Us

Morris Jeff Community School is an open-admissions PK-8 public charter school that was recently recognized by the U.S. Department of Education Secretary Dr. John B. King, Jr., for its groundbreaking approach to student achievement in a diverse setting. MJCS is a World School of the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) offering the Primary Years Programme (PYP) for grades PK-5 and a candidate school of the Middle Years Programme (MYP) grades 6-10. Currently, Morris Jeff is the only elementary school in Louisiana with the IBO World School designation.

High School

MJCS is expanding to high school for the 2017-2018 school year! Give your student the opportunity to become a part of the inaugural graduating class of 2021. To learn more about high school, please email High School Director Lisa Smith at lsmith@morrisjeffschool.org.

MJCS offers weekly tours for prospective parents every Tuesday at 10 AM. Please call Beckie Henricks, Admissions Coordinator, at 504-373-6258 to schedule your tour.
